Call for Applications: Remote Professional Internships for Francophone Students in Central and Eastern Europe
The Central and Eastern Europe office of AUF, in collaboration with RFI Romania, invites applications for remote professional internships. These internships are open to Francophone students enrolled in AUF-member institutions in Central and Eastern Europe, excluding Romania.

- Program Aim: Part of the regional Europa Plus initiative, the program supports the professional development and employability of Francophone students by involving them in a unique media project.
About the Europa Plus Program
The Europa Plus initiative is a regional project launched under the partnership between RFI Romania and AUF Central and Eastern Europe. It offers Francophone students from AUF-member institutions the opportunity to professionalize through remote regional internships.
Participants will propose and translate press articles from their home countries on topics of national and European relevance. These contributions enrich the Romanian public with news from Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Georgia, Hungary, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Lithuania, North Macedonia, Moldova, Poland, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Turkey, and Ukraine.
Internship Activities:
Weekly translation of national press articles into French on topics such as health, society, economy, and culture.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program at an AUF-member institution in Central and Eastern Europe, excluding Romania.
- Field of study: journalism, communication, foreign languages, translation, or related areas.
- Advanced proficiency in French.
- Proof that the internship is an integral part of the academic program, evaluated by credits or a grade.
- Valid student status for the entire internship duration.
Application Process:
Applicants must complete the online application form and submit the following documents:
- A copy of a valid student card or enrollment certificate for 2024–2025.
- A copy of the passport.
- Updated CV (in French).
- Motivation letter (in French).
- Academic transcript for the last completed semester.
- Translation test: translate a 6000–8000-character article (including spaces) from the national press into French and submit it as a PDF. The article must be relevant nationally and regionally, sourced from credible media.
- Certification from the home university’s program coordinator or dean confirming the internship’s academic relevance and credit/grade allocation (see the attached template).
Selection Criteria:
Applications will be reviewed based on:
- Alignment of the internship with the student’s academic program.
- Motivation (via letter and interview).
- Quality of the translation test.
Timeline:
- January 15, 2025: Call for applications opens.
- February 16, 2025: Deadline for applications.
- February 17–21, 2025: Candidate interviews and final selection.
- End of February 2025: Internship commencement.
Selected interns will receive a monthly allowance of €60 gross for four months.
