Student exchange is possible within the framework of bilateral agreements (memorandums) on cooperation between Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and a foreign partner university. Please, consult the list of foreign partners at the link.

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation between universities, a student or PhD student may apply for study, traineeship, joint research, participation in joint projects, etc., in accordance with the terms of the bilateral agreement. Such an exchange is formalised as academic mobility. The period of such an exchange is from one to four semesters (the total period of a student’s participation in academic mobility programmes may not exceed 50% of the period of study in the educational programme).

During the period of mobility, a student (PhD student) is exempted from paying for studies at the host institution, but all expenses for their stay are covered by their own funds.

To participate in the bilateral exchange programme, please take the following steps:

  1. Choose a foreign partner university.
  2. Make a request to the partner university regarding the possibility to accept you for the exchange study (traineeship) within the framework of a bilateral agreement.
  3. If the partner university is ready to accept you for study (traineeship), please contact the academic coordinator at the faculty (institute) to file a nomination order.
  4. If the faculty (institute) approves your exchange study (traineeship), you are to submit the following documents to the International Relations Office:

– nomination order from the faculty (institute);

– CV of a student (PhD student) in English;

– a letter of recommendation from the scientific supervisor or teacher who worked with the student (PhD student) in English;

– a language certificate confirming the required level of language proficiency for study (traineeship) at the host institution;

– for Bachelor students: transcript of records and its translation in English certified by the faculty (institute);

– for Master students: a copy of the Bachelor’s diploma with supplement;

– for PhD students: a copy of the Master’s diploma with supplement;

– an individual schedule approved at the department and with the coordinator of academic mobility at the faculty (institute);

– confirmation from the host partner university to accept you for exchange study (traineeship).
