Applications are now open for study and research stays at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) for the summer term 2027. These scholarships are awarded within the international project “Competence Network of Urban Transformation and Resilience” as part of the DAAD Programme “German-Ukrainian University Network”.
- Program Overview & Funding Rates
The funding aims to support qualified students, doctoral candidates, and early-career researchers, as well as to enhance academic and scientific cooperation.
Monthly Scholarship Rates (DAAD standards):
- For Students: €992.00 per month.
- For Doctoral Candidates: €1,300.00 per month.
- Eligibility Requirements
- Affiliation: Applicants must be enrolled or employed at a partner university of the “Competence Network of Urban Transformation and Resilience” project.
- Academic Focus: Proven interest or engagement in urban transformation, sustainability, and resilience research.
- Language Proficiency: Good command of English for active participation in international teaching and research activities.
- Collaborative Spirit: Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary collaboration, joint projects, workshops, or mobility activities within the network.

- Curriculum Vitae (CV) – in English.
- Portfolio featuring examples of academic or scientific work.
- Letter of Motivation for participation in the project – in English.
- Letter of Motivation for the DAAD scholarship – in English.
- Written Explanation of financial need.

Scholarships will be awarded by a selection committee based on an overall evaluation of the application. Key criteria include:
- Subject-specific qualification in the field of urban planning / urban design.
- Academic qualification and general study progress.
- Quality of the portfolio.
