About this lecture:
This lecture will provide an overview of psychological well-being and resilience in light of the biopsychosocial model, which emphasizes the relevance in clinical care of assessing biological, psychological, and social factors to achieve a comprehensive and global understanding of patients and to propose integrated care. The interplay among these factors will also be illustrated, with the aim of overcoming a reductionist view of clinical cases.
About the lecturer:
Fiammetta Cosci graduated in Medicine in 1999 at the University of Florence, Italy; obtained the title of Psychiatrist in 2003 at the University of Florence; and earned a PhD in Psychiatry in 2007 at the University of Maastricht, the Netherlands. She is currently an Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology in the Department of Health Sciences at the University of Florence and a guest Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry & Neuropsychology at Maastricht University, the Netherlands. She is Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Psychosomatic Research, a board member of the European Association of Psychosomatic Medicine, and Coordinator of the Italian Group for Psychosomatic Research. She received the EPA Research Prize (2009), the Global Research Award for Nicotine Dependence (2010), the Y-Mind Center for the Prevention of Mental Disorders Award (2013), and the Allison Creed Award (2023). She has published more than 120 papers in WOS-indexed international journals.
