About the series: New European Bauhaus Meets EUniWell – Rethinking Sustainable Universities, Cities, and Rural Areas
The New European Bauhaus (NEB) is an initiative launched by the European Commission to bring sustainability, inclusion, and aesthetics together in reshaping living spaces. Its vision aligns closely with EUniWell’s commitment to well-being, as sustainability and well-being are deeply linked: green campuses improve mental health, sustainable food systems promote equity, and human-centred urban planning fosters community engagement.
This webinar series aims to connect both initiatives, exploring how universities can implement NEB principles to create healthier, greener, and more inclusive spaces.
However, this transformation should not be limited to campuses. Universities have a crucial role as civic institutions, supporting sustainable transitions in urban and rural areas by collaborating with municipalities, local communities, and policymakers. By engaging in civic university initiatives, higher education institutions can become active partners in creating more liveable cities and thriving rural regions.
Through these webinars, we seek to engage students, faculty, municipal leaders, and experts in reimagining universities as hubs of innovation that contribute to the sustainable development of their wider regions, fully aligned with the NEB´s vision.
