Kick-off meeting with international partners at the University of Warsaw within the framework of the NAWA project “Solidarity with Ukraine”

From 25 to 26 April 2024, a delegation from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, headed by Vice-Rector for Education (International Cooperation) Kseniia SMYRNOVA, took part in a kick-off meeting at the University of Warsaw as part of the NAWA project “Solidarity with Ukraine”.

Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv was represented by Deputy Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law Yevhen HERASYMENKO, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Economics Liudmyla ANISIMOVA, employees of the International Relations Office Nadiia SEROHINA and Maryna MARTSYNIUK-KOLIADA, and Leading Researcher of the Research Laboratory for Problems of Financial Support of Troops of the Research Department of Military Humanitarian Studies of the Research Centre of the Military Institute Kira HORIACHEVA.

Prof. Sambor GRUCHA, Vice-Rector for Interaction and Human Resources of the University of Warsaw and project coordinator Dr Piotr KEPSKI, Director of the Department of Programmes for Institutions of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA), welcomed the participants of the event. During the meeting, Isabella KRATZ, Secretary General of the 4EU+ Alliance, briefed the participants on the main objectives of the Alliance and the results of its work. Klementyna KIELAK, Deputy Head of the International Relations Office of the University of Warsaw, spoke about the history of the Alliance and its priority areas of work.

Kseniia SMYRNOVA thanked the participants of the seminar: “KNU appreciates and strategically builds cooperation with the Alliances of European Universities. This project, supported by NAWA, is an effective mechanism for the internationalisation of our universities. Joint events, projects, conferences and roundtables planned for this year will become another strong bridge between partner universities.”

The participants of the workshop on “Artificial Intelligence: Practical Study of Creating Language Models, Tools, and an Outline of Ethics. Where we are and where we are going”, conducted by Dr Colin LEWIS. The workshop covered the potential of artificial intelligence, its importance and key role in the science of the future. The issues of ethical use of artificial intelligence and the possibility of its application in education and training were discussed.
