Economic Inclusion and Well-being: Comparing Research, Policies, and Perspectives Across Europe, the U.S., and Globally

Dear lecturers!
The NYU Institute of Human Development and Social Change (IHDSC) and the European University for Wellbeing (EUniWell) invite you to participate in a collaborative and interdisciplinary conversation on the topic of economic inclusion and family health and well-being. The conversation takes place online on January 18, 2024 at 16:30-18:00 (Kyiv time).
The discussion will be structured as an informal sharing of work and ideas between a group of NYU scholars and scholars from EUniwell’s network of European Universities. Key goals for this discussion are to include:
- Developing a shared understanding of how experiences with economic systems (i.e. employment/labor market, housing, education, food insecurity, etc.) are connected to family health and well-being;
- Sharing research interests and expertise within the framework of comparing economic systems and policies across Europe and the U.S.; and
- Beginning collaborative discussions around a broad vision and transformative solutions for a more inclusive future.
Agenda
- Welcome & Introductions
- EUniwell’s Perspective on Well-being
- IHDSC’s Approach to Understanding Economic Inclusion
- Group Discussion:
- Can you look at economic inclusion through the lens of well-being, and well-being through the lens of economic inclusion? Is there something from your current research that would benefit from this exchange?
- What transformative approaches are working to connect economics and well-being? In European countries? In the United States? And globally?
