Free Online Course from the BUP: ‘Introduction to ESD – Education for Sustainable Development’

The Baltic University Programme (BUP) invites students, lecturers and staff from universities participating in the BUP network to take part in the online course ‘Introduction to ESD – Education for Sustainable Development’, organised by Åbo Akademi University.
The online course will provide you with an introduction and background to the field of ESD and how it is linked to transformative learning, learning for change, and sustainability competencies. During the course, you get the opportunity to present ESD in practice at a university or institution, and at the same time hear about the situation at other universities.
Studies will be held online (Moodle) and will be both individual and teamwork; there will also be an examination report and presentation.
The course is free for members of the BUP network; places are limited. Selection will be on a competitive basis.

Course load: 5 ECTS
Application deadline: 8 September 2026
The course has a maximum of 7 places for participants via the BUP free of charge.
