
Mobility opportunity for the 2nd and 3rd year Bachelor students, the 1st year Master students of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv!
We invite you to participate in the competitive selection to study in the exchange program within the framework of bilateral cooperation during the fall semester, the academic year 2026-2027 at Saitama University (Japan).
Under the exchange program, students are offered free education during the semester, the student covers other expenses independently. Students enrolled at Saitama University can also apply for scholarships. The decision on awarding scholarships is made by Saitama University.
Specialization: Philology (Japanese language).
Application deadline: 6 March 2026.
List of documents to be submitted in English:
- CV in EUROPASS format;
- Motivation letter (up to 1 page).
- Certificate of proficiency in English/ or Japanese (not lower than B2 level). Certificate of language proficiency from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv is acceptable as well.

- For Bachelor students: scan of the Transcript of Records translated in English and certified. For acquiring a Transcript of Records, please contact an academic coordinator at the faculty/institute.
For Master students: scan of Bachelor’s diploma with supplement.
- Individual plan (link for downloading Individual plan template). Individual schedule has to be signed by the head of the department or the Faculty/Institute mobility coordinator. Please note that the minimum number of credits for re-enrollment is 15 ECTS.

- Meet any of the following minimum language proficiency requirements:
- IELTS 5.5, TOEFL iBT 65, TOEFL ITP 530 (CEFR B2) or equivalent
- JLPT N2 or equivalent
- Academic GPA (GPA 2.4 or higher on a 4.0 scale)
- Meet the program objectives: The STEPS program aims to provide students with educational opportunities to:
- improve their Japanese language proficiency
- learn about the latest developments in various academic fields in Japan
- deepen their understanding of Japan
- engage in cross-cultural exchange with students from Japan and other countries
