5 KNU faculty members took part in the one-week professional development programme in the field of COIL for professors of the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities

From January 29 to February 2, 2024, 5 professors of Taras Shevchenko KNU: Liliia Goncharuk, Candidate of Philological Sciences (PhD), Colonel, Head of the Special Language Training Department of the Military Faculty of International Relations and Law of the Military Institute; Svitlana Pereplotchykova, Candidate of Philological Sciences (PhD), Associate Professor at the Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology; Anastasiia Pozhar, Candidate of Philological Sciences (PhD), Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law; Liudmyla Shvorak, Candidate of Economic Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations of the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations and Olha Yashenkova, Candidate of Philological Sciences (PhD), Associate Professor at the Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology participated in the 5-day professional development programme for faculty members of the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities “AUU Global Synergy through Collaborative Online International Learning” (COIL) which took place at the Ukrainian Catholic University (Lviv). This programme is one of the initiatives of the Alliance of Ukrainian Universities which aims to promote the development of collaborative online international learning (COIL). During the training, participants from AUU member universities gained knowledge and skills in using COIL tools to promote intercultural cooperation, enrich educational content and establish global partnerships. In particular, COIL cases, effective integration strategies, project management, intercultural communications were studied. Renowned COIL experts from around the world shared their experiences. Participants developed personal action plans for integrating COIL into their teaching practice.

34 participants from 6 universities of the Alliance took part in the professional development programme on the internationalisation of higher education.

Olha Yashenkova shares her impressions:
“Sincere gratitude to the University management and KNU International Relations Office for their support and the opportunity to participate in the AUU Global Synergy professional development programme on the internationalisation of higher education. The programme made it possible not only deepen knowledge about COIL and gain valuable practical skills for future projects, but also meet highly qualified specialists who truly strive to improve the quality of higher education in Ukraine. The strong TSNUK team returned home with ideas for new projects one of which is planned to be implemented in the near future.”

Lilia Goncharuk shares her impressions:
“I want to express gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the programme not just on my behalf, but on the behalf of the whole Military Institute. This direction is new but very promising and important for the military community. The programme gave an opportunity not only to get inspiration for further work, but also meet like-minded people who strive for the development and improvement of the quality of higher education.”
