Round table on the topic: “Language Policy of Independent Ukraine as a Legacy of the Linguicide of the Empire in its Various Russian Forms (discussion of a wide range of issues raised in Taras Marusyk’s book “30 Years of Independence: Language Acts that Change Ukraine”).

Questions for discussion:
* opposition of the authorities to the establishment of the legal status of the Ukrainian language on the eve of the collapse of the USSR and after Ukraine gained independence;
* the constant struggle of a part of the political community and a passionate minority for the constitutionalization of the Ukrainian language and the implementation of Article 10 of the Constitution;
* Ukrainian society’s resistance to the “Ukrainian” power of President Yanukovych during and after the adoption of the toxic law “On the Basics of State Language Policy”;
*why until now, in the conditions of a great war, unity has not been achieved in the views of society and the authorities on language policy;
*how the large-scale invasion of Russia affected the language policy;
*linguicide in the national republics of the Russian Federation (according to research by the ABN and OUN).
