DigiLabStar project (Bochum / Kyiv)

The aim of the project. The joint project DigiLabStar (Digital Laboratories for Students at risk) between the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, Ukraine (KNU) and the Ruhr University Bochum, Germany (RUB) is financed by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). The project aims to develop blended laboratory internships together with students from natural science courses (Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Medicine specialties) of the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The students will attend short-term training in the laboratories of the Ruhr University Bochum under the academic mobility program.
Project trajectory. The laboratory training is tailored to the curricular requirements of KNU, and the credits that students earn in RUB will be transferred to their records for fisrt master semester at KNU.
Throughout this training virtual laboratory learning units (training videos and handouts for teachers and students) will be developed and prepared for further use.
Duration of project. The laboratory training lasts for 6-8 weeks (from October until December 2022).
Scholarship. Students will get a scholarship to cover travel (350,00, € once) and accommodation (861 €, monthly) costs.
The application deadline. September, 1st, 2022.
Who can apply? 20 Master’s students of Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Medicine specialties (5 persons per specialty) will be selected:

  • Master’s students in the 1st year of study of Physics, Chemistry, Biology specialties and the educational program “Laboratory Diagnostics” (Medicine)
  • students of the 4th and 5th year of study of the educational program “Medicine” (Medicine)

    The results of the selection will be published on 1st October, 2022.
    Required documents. To participate in the project students have to prepare the following documents:
  • Bachelor’s diploma (except for students studying in educational program “Medicine”)
  • Foreign passport
  • Medical insurance for travelling abroad
