The idea of compiling the First Ukrainian-Lithuanian Dictionary appeared in 2016. Today we would like to say: that is the dream that came true.
The Dictionary is a result of collaboration among three establishments: Institute of Lithuanian Language (in Lithuanian Lietuvių kalbos institutas), Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, as well as Lutsk Human Development Institute of the Open International University “Ukraine”. The Lithuanian team is represented by Aurelija Gritėnienė, the Senior Research Officer from the Institute of Lithuanian Language.
The Ukrainian team consists of Zinaida Pakholok, the Professor from Lutsk Human Development Institute of the Open International University “Ukraine”, as well as Igor Korolyov, Svitlana Hrytsenko, and Oksana Nika, the Professors from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv.
The publication of the Dictionary would not be possible without the support of Rostyslav Radyshevskyi, Jolanta Zabarskaite, and Nataliia Medynska, the Professors, as well as the administration of the Institute of Lithuanian Language. The publication of the First Ukrainian-Lithuanian Dictionary was also made possible thanks to the support of Serhii Martyniak, the Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania in Lutsk.
Sincere congratulations to all our collegues on their participation and hard-earned success!
