Final selection of applicants for participation in the NICE-2025 virtual exchange programme

The selection of participants for the NICE Virtual Exchange Programme has been recently completed. Within the programme, students from 6 universities (University of Edinburgh, University of Amsterdam, University of Padua, University College Dublin, University of Johannesburg and Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv) will be able to develop entrepreneurship and intercultural competence skills. Traditionally, the programme also provides an opportunity to participate in the summer school, which will be held in Edinburgh this year.

Applications for the programme were accepted from 03 January to 06 February 2025. 61 students from 13 faculties and institutes of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv applied for the programme.

The selection of participants was carried out by the Commission, which included 6 faculty members of KNU, namely:

  • Kostyantyn Mezentsev, Doctor of Geography, Professor, Head of the Department of Economic and Social Geography of the Faculty of Geography;
  • Liliia Miroshnychenko, Doctor of Philology, Professor, Head of the Department of Foreign Literature at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology;
  • Svitlana Pashchenko, PhD in Education, Associate Professor, Deputy Dean for International Cooperation and Research, Faculty of Psychology;
  • Anastasiia Volobuieva, PhD in Social Communication, Associate Professor, Deputy Director for Education at the Educational and Scientific Institute of Journalism;
  • Oleksii Chuhaiev, Doctor of Economics, Professor of the Department of World Economy and International Economic Relations at the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations;
  • Vasyl Namoniuk, PhD in Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of International Finance at the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations.

During the selection, the participants’ general motivation, understanding of the programme, teamwork skills, previous valuable participation experience, and level of English language proficiency were considered.

Based on the results of the Commission’s work, 25 students were selected from the following departments of the University:

  • 9 – from the Educational and Scientific Institute of International Relations;
  • 3 – from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology;
  • 2 – from the Faculty of Economics;
  • 2 – from the Institute of Journalism;
  • 2 – from the Faculty of Philosophy;
  • 1 – from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Law;
  • 1 – from the Faculty of History;
  • 1 – from the Educational and Scientific Institute of Public Administration and Civil Service;
  • 1 – from the Faculty of Radiophysics, Electronics and Computer Systems;
  • 1 – from the Faculty of Psychology;
  • 1 – from the Faculty of Information Technologies;
  • 1 – from the Faculty of Computer Science and Cybernetics.

On 3 March 2025, the students will start their participation in the virtual part of the NICE programme. We wish good luck and success to the participants of the NICE-2025 programme.
